By Wash | It’s been another good week in geekdom and, I’m not going to lie, it’s becoming difficult to focus my energy on life, especially those parts of life that fund my pop culture addiction.
It’s been an interesting week, not just because there’s a bunch of cool geeky shit that I’ve been able to perve over, but also because… no, wait… who am I kidding? There’s just been a bunch of cool shit out.
Battlefield’s 96-hour Double XP event, which was scheduled to start later today (South African time), has been postponed in the wake of an ongoing malicious distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on EA/DICE’s servers and network infrastructure.
There’s so much cool news that comes out on a daily basis that, sometimes, you just can’t keep up with it all – well, if you’re employed anyway. So, this is the first of what (I hope) will be a weekly column on the coolest geek news to happen each week.
The first Battlefield 4 footage has been released to the Internet, with a 17-minute long sortie through what I imagine is part of the single-player campaign. Battlefield 4 is built on DICE’s all-new FrostBite 3 game engine and…well…it’s just AWESOME.
